Government supports agriculture tourism
Government supports businesses in agro tourism. This was affirmed by His Excellency, the President Dr Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi as he led cabinet and accounting officers to appreciate agro tourism projects at Seasara farm located in Mmamashia.
Following this, the Minister of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism, Ms Phildah Kereng added that government offers start-up wildlife stock such as impala, gemsbok, zebra, eland and warthog to farmers in order to boost Agro-tourism. Ms Kereng said Batswana are allowed to utilise 50 percent of their land for ploughing and the other half for agro tourism.
She said they took a decision to support such initiatives in 2020, when the world and Botswana were at the height of COVID-19 to reduce the negative impact of the disease on the local economy.
Seasara farm is a 14 hectare farm which offers conference facilities, accommodation, game, and orchards production including vegetables.
President Dr Masisi and his cabinet jointly with accounting officers are on a 3 day retreat in Seasara farm, Mmamashia.
