Good Governance Key In Human Rights

His Honour Mr Slumber Tsogwane the Vice President of the Republic of Botswana officially opening the 2nd International Ombudsman Expo in Gaborone said without good governance, human rights cannot be respected and protected in a sustainable manner.

His Honour said the implementation of human rights relies on a conducive and enabling environment which includes appropriate legal frameworks and institutions, political, managerial and administrative processes responsible for responding to the rights and needs of the population.

Speaking at the event, the Director, Governance and Management Services International, United Kingdom expressed gratitude as they managed to host the global event. He said the event brought together giants of the industry that modern states depend on to succeed. He said the collaboration of Ombudsman provide the much needed network as it brought together government and non government organisations.

This second expo follows the first one which was held in Abuja Nigeria in 2019.
