GIMC and Leapfrog Donates Four Dmart Tablets to Gaborone Public Library

Gaborone International Music and Culture Week, known as GIMC has embarked on a charity drive as part of their 10-year anniversary legacy, and donated four (4) smart tablets to Gaborone Public Library this morning.

Speaking during the handover, the Ministry of Youth Sports Gender and Culture Deputy Permanent Secretary -Library, Archives, Arts and Culture Mr Tebogo Matebesi appreciated a kind gesture extended by Leap Frog of donating tablets to Gaborone Public Library and highlighted that the donation is a testament that the creative industry goes beyond entertainment, but also play a critical role of giving back to the community.

Delivering his remarks, the Founder and Managing Director of Leapfrog Mr Fish Pabalinga announced that the donation of smart tablets to 10 Public libraries (4 per Library) across the country, Gaborone being the first is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

Mr Pabalinga stated that the donation of the tablets is in line with His Excellency, Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi’s vision of moving Botswana from a Resource Based Economy to a Knowledge-Based Economy.

Accepting the donation Gaborone City Mayor Hon. Austin Abraham appreciated the gesture and urged other music promoters and event organizers to emulate Leapfrog and create collaborations to give back to the community.
