Former Football Star Malepa Bolelang’s Leg Amputated After Accident
Former Zebras striker Malepa Bolelang has had his leg amputated after he was hot by a car on Sunday. The former Ecco City Greens striker is reported to have been celebratring his birthday with his friends when a car hit him and left him with serious injuries.
According to Francistown City Greens secretary general, Gift Keaitse, Bolelang attended their encounter against GNT on Sunday afternoon and after the match, he invited the team to his house for the birthday celebrations.
As they left the stadium, the team headed to Bolelang’s house. Bolelang and his friends went to buy drinks at Somerset and according to an eye witness, one car drove off from the parking lot, and in the process hit Bolelanga and two of his friends.
The car crashed into a wall, which fell heavily on Bolelang, injuring him on the lower part of the body. He was then rushed to Nyangabwe hospital where he was immediately admitted into the ICU. After amputating his leg yesterday, the 35 year old is now out of ICU.
The police have arrested a lady who is helping them with investigations and it is suspected that the lady was driving under the influence of alcohol.
