The FNB Foundation is set to launch a locally produced docuseries titled KGOKGONTSHO- GBV to shed light on the growing issue of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in communities. This initiative aims to create awareness and encourage meaningful conversations around a social scourge that continues to affect many lives across the country.
Speaking on the project, the Head of the FNBB Foundation, Atang Mbikiwa, emphasized the importance of using storytelling as a tool for social change. The foundation has partnered with local film production company Africa Tale Media to produce this real-life-based docuseries, with a sponsorship of 1 million Pula. The series will showcase the realities of GBV, bringing forward stories that reflect the experiences of victims and survivors while also highlighting efforts to combat the issue.
Mbikiwa further noted that FNBB, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) organ, is committed to working closely with the film and arts sector to address sensitive societal issues. By supporting initiatives such as KGOKGONTSHO- GBV, the foundation aims to contribute to the fight against GBV by fostering awareness, advocacy, and dialogue within communities.
With this docuseries, FNB Foundation and Africa Tale Media hope to reach a wide audience, inspiring action against GBV and advocating for a safer society for all.
