Filling up our national stadium is the hardest thing to do,more so when your gig is not free. Only a few like BDF Day celebration and church crusades manage to do that. Leap Frog managing director Fish Pabalinga beat the stereotype when his Gaborone Music Week and Culture 2016 was well received by the masses.
Gaborone streets were empty because everyone came out to the stadium to experience the GIMC 2016. This festival is one of the best in the country, but this year, they outdid themselves. Overwhelmed Fish had this to say, “Thank u Botswana, you have indeed proved my theory right that we can also host a big show. From sat 27 Aug until Sat 3 Sept we did what many thought unthinkable. We had over 50 artists perform over the week, all of them turned up, all came on time, all brought their A game.”
Gaborone International Music and Culture Week is a multi discipline event that celebrates Gaborone City and its residents. GIMC is held every end of August and ends first week of September . GIMC showcases cultural celebrations, comedy, poetry, music festival, fashion, Jazz, Golf day to name a few. Performers are selected from across the region, internationally as well as top local artists.
