Yesterday, the First Lady of Botswana, Kaone Boko, began her day at the Maun Kgotla, where she was warmly welcomed by a large gathering of women from different organizations. The women shared their inspiring success stories, as well as the challenges they face, and collectively proposed recommendations on how they can be supported to achieve more for the benefit of the nation.
As part of efforts to uplift women, donations were made to the maternity ward to assist mothers in need, ensuring that they receive better care and essential supplies.
Later in the day, the First Lady visited the Child-Friendly Centre, a safe space where children can report cases of abuse and receive necessary support. In a gesture of encouragement and care, toys and reading materials were donated to the centre, reinforcing the commitment to child welfare and protection.
Kaone Boko expressed her gratitude to the village leadership for their warm welcome and to the Botswana Police Service for their unwavering efforts in safeguarding children and the community at large. Her visit highlighted the importance of collective action in supporting women and children, ensuring a brighter future for Botswana.
