His Honour the Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane says periodic maintenance of facilities is important to save money.
He said this during his tour of health facilities and schools in Boteti West yesterday.
Vice President Tsogwane said if not properly maintained, buildings end up dilapidated and will require a lot of money to restore or build new ones.
He further highlighted that worn-out facilities or buildings hinder effective service delivery which may affect the lives of people. He further urged those responsible for facility maintenance to be efficient.
For his part Boteti Sub District Senior Assistant Council Secretary Christopher Maramba said the delay in maintenance of facilities was due to shortage of funds and clarified that the council has done inspections on facilities and have budgeted for major maintenance of schools and clinics to be done during NDP12.
Vice President Tsogwane’s week long tour is to inspect conditions of facilities in the Boteti West Constituency as well as appreciate working conditions of education and health care providers to see how they can be assisted.
