The Attorney General’s Chambers is an extra Ministerial Department
under the Ministry of Justice. It exists to prosecute all criminal cases
at the public instance; prosecute, defend or settle civil cases on behalf of Government, draft legislation; produce law reports; negotiate and draft commercial and international agreements and provide sound legal advice to Government, in a prompt, professional and responsible manner.
The Attorney General’s Chambers seeks the services of talented, self –driven, experienced and highly motivated citizens of Botswana to
fill the following vacant positions.

VACANCY TITLE: TYPIST I
TENABLE AT DIRECTORATE OF PUBLIC PROSECUTIONS – KASANE
AND ATTORNEY GENERAL’S CHAMBERS –HQ

SALARY SCALE: B2/B1 (P69, 996.00 – P 98,160.00 per annum)
LEAVE: 20 working days per annum.
BENEFITS: Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme with 80% from Government and 20% from Employee. Contributory pension Scheme (Government pays 15%, Employee 5%)
QUALIFICATIONS: National Certificate in Secretarial Studies.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years relevant work experience.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide Secretarial services within the Attorney General’s
Chambers
DUTIES
• Types letters, minutes, reports, notes from manuscripts or
other forms of copies and file copies.
• Produces copies from original manuscripts.
• Checks his/her work for correctness and proper layouts.
• Provides on the job training to Typist II.
• Provides typing duties to a group of middle Management
officer.
• Keeps up to date with Public Service procedures and
practice regarding the use of abbreviations, correction of
first draft, and in addressing of official correspondence.
• Undertaking any other related tasks as may be required to
meet exigencies of the service.

VACANCY TITLE: SENIOR RECORDS ASSISTANT II

QUALIFICATIONS: Certificate in Archives & Records Management from a recognized Institution.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years relevant work experience.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide Records Management Services within the Attorney
General’s Chambers.
DUTIES:
• Monitors adherence to the laid down rules and
procedures for proper functioning of an Records
Management Unit
• Manages a Bring Up Diary
• Allocates duties to the RMU junior staff
• Marks mail to relevant Action Officers; and
• Arranges for transfer of closed records to the Records
Centre through the supervisor.
• Conducts file census survey.
• Undertaking any other related tasks as may be required to
meet exigencies of the service.
