Renowned actor and producer Donald Molosi has been named the winner of the prestigious Outstanding Professional in Africa award for 2025 by the Africa Outstanding Professionals Awards (AFROPA) Secretariat in Gambia. The celebrated artist, known for his impactful work in cultural diplomacy, will receive the award at a grand ceremony set for March in Gambia.

Molosi expressed his gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the growing appreciation for African excellence. “Africa is waking up to her excellence. I am grateful to accept this massive award from Gambia. I appreciate that Gambia recognises my work in acting as well as in global consultancy,” he stated.

The award comes at a high point in Molosi’s career, following the success of his short film Partly Cloudy & Hot, which was certified Oscar-qualifying in Atlanta, Georgia, last year. His contributions to the arts and his advocacy for African storytelling on global platforms have cemented his reputation as a cultural ambassador for the continent.

Molosi’s recognition by AFROPA highlights his influence not only in the entertainment industry but also in shaping conversations around African identity and heritage. His dedication to cultural diplomacy has seen him work as a consultant and keynote speaker on global stages, further elevating Botswana’s presence in the arts and international discourse.

As he prepares to accept this latest accolade, Molosi continues to inspire a new generation of African creatives, proving that storytelling remains one of the most powerful tools in shaping the continent’s global narrative.
