His Honour the Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane says development remains government’s greatest priority.
Vice President Tsogwane said this is the reason parliament have seen the need to pass the Second Transitional National Development Plan (TNDP) bill. He said this when addressing a Kgotla meeting in Motopi yesterday.
The Vice President explained that the Transitional National Development Plan is a two-year programme which will commence in the 2023-2024 financial year.
He explained that this came after a realisation that a number of projects were not done during NDP11 due to Covid-19 constraints. He said the programme is therefore meant to complete development projects that were affected.
Vice President said the TNDP will however not do away with National Development Plan 12 adding that it will come into effect after two years.
He revealed that the Transitional National Development Plan will also help align the NDP with government’s term of office going forward.
This he said will enable the sitting government an opportunity to complete their projects within their term of office.
Vice President Tsogwane is in Boteti West Constituency where he is addresing a series of Kgotla meetings to update people on the proceedings of the past parliament.
