The Acting President of the Republic of Botswana Slumber Tsogwane says Officers Cadets should acquaint themselves with tactics that may enable them to be deployed anywhere, to fight for civil liberties of innocent civilians.

Speaking at the Commissioning Parade of Officer Cadets Class 43 of 2022 at Sir Seretse Khama Barracks this morning, Tsogwane said the Botswana Defense Force Officer Cadets graduation, takes place at a time when the SADC region is fighting a war against terrorism in the Republic of Mozambique.

He also noted that the officers are graduating at a time when the nation is faced with many social ills, that include alcohol and substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence, Road Accidents and many others.

Tsogwane said the Officer Cadets are responsible for taking care of themselves against these social ills, as well as understanding the consequences of engaging in these social ills.

He encouraged the officers to uphold the mandate of the BDF, and be custodians of goodwill in their service to the military, and role models to the youth of Botswana.
