CLARIFICATION ON SUBSIDY ISSUES

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development informs members of the public that the initial list of companies publicised in the Ministry website contained names of companies that submitted claims under the wage subsidy. This was meant for information sharing, especially to potential beneficiaries, that is, both employers and employees. Over 75% of the companies that have submitted claims have successfully been paid and payments for the remaining companies continues. The Ministry has posted companies that have been paid for the month of April 2020. The list can be accessed at https://finance.gov.bw.
