Chris Brown has been riding out a general high in the last six months, closing out a national headling tour with French Montana and Fabolous, appearing on tracks withMeek Mill and Nas, and most recently announcing that he’ll participate inBET’s celebrity basketball game. And on Tuesday (June 6), he hosted the first screening of his new documentary Welcome to My Life.
In attendance was his daughter Royalty, his mother Joyce Hawkins, Kap G, Diddy and his sons, the film’s producer Andrew Listermann, director Andrew Sandler and many more. It was natural for some of his closest friends to show support at the screening of a film that covers much of his ups and downs up to this point, including his relationship and falling out with Rihanna. While on the red carpet, Chris Brown spoke on the importance of having her daughter in his life: “She is my life. She’s a part of my life in all aspects. I thought music was at first but she’s number one, and then the music. Bringing her here, I wanted to show her that daddy is cool, I guess.”
The film will be playing in theaters this Thursday and features Jamie Foxx, Usher, DJ Khaled, Jennifer Lopez, Rita Ora and Mary J. Blige.
