Choir launch a thriller
Attendees of the Soul Redeemers Gospel Choir (SRGC) Launch were this past weekend treated to a series of sweet melodious songs by various clap and tap choirs. The choir launch that attracted multitudes at the Mantlwaneng theatre hall in Gaborone had more than twenty clap and tap choirs brought together under one roof. SRGC dressed in new grey dresses trimmed in blue, left on-lookers at the night having a lot to speak about.
The youthful group that was formally launched by the former Botswana Democratic Party Youth Wing treasurer Bruce Nkgakile began the musical night with a slow yet moving hymn named “Naha e teng e rategang”. The choir then rendered a set of songs that gave members of the audience seeking for encores. Nkgakile who was the keynote speaker at the night revealed that he was elated by the level of commitment that the choir has displayed into wanting to transform the music fraternity in Botswana.
According to Nkgakile, he was much more impressed to be launching the choir because new projects excite him. After the address by the young politician, St Paul’s Mogoditshane Choir left attendees in chants seeking for more with their synchronized patterns of dancing. The Mogoditshane side delivered songs named “Bokang Modimo” and “Jehovah Modimo” among others. Other choirs that were in attendance included Dineo tsa tumelo, Babiditsweng ke Lentswe and St John’s Metsimotlhabe church choir.
