The Minister for State President, Honourable Moeti Mohwasa, recently addressed fellow Honourable Ministers at a Cabinet retreat, emphasizing the government’s ongoing efforts to deliver quality services and fulfill its mandate to the people of Botswana. The retreat, which began with a warm welcome to the new ministers, aims to equip them with the necessary tools and skills to effectively execute their national duties.

Minister Mohwasa noted that the Cabinet has been meeting regularly to deliberate on key strategies for improving governance and ensuring that essential services reach every Motswana. Reflecting on the importance of their roles, he acknowledged that the ministers had learned valuable lessons both within their respective ministries and at the Cabinet level. At the ministry level, they are tasked with providing strong political leadership, while at Cabinet meetings, their responsibility is to tender advice to the President, assisting him in making critical national decisions.

He also highlighted that in the past two months, ministers have been introduced to a range of new instruments designed to facilitate the efficient running of their offices. This includes systems and processes aimed at improving service delivery and supporting the government’s overarching vision for the country.

The Cabinet retreat serves as a platform to further build on these skills and provide the ministers with the guidance they need to carry out their responsibilities effectively. By enhancing their leadership capabilities and understanding of government processes, the ministers will be better positioned to navigate the complex challenges facing the nation.

The retreat will conclude with remarks from the Vice President, Mr. Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe, who is expected to officially close the session today. His speech will offer a final reflection on the importance of teamwork and continued dedication to public service as the government moves forward in its mission to serve the people of Botswana.
