The much-anticipated fourth edition of the Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) Marathon is set to take place tomorrow at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium, promising a day filled with energy, unity, and purpose. The event continues to grow as a symbol of BTC’s commitment to promoting wellness, fostering inclusivity, and strengthening community engagement as part of its broader nation-building agenda.

This year’s marathon is expected to attract a wide range of participants from across Botswana and neighbouring countries. Runners will compete in multiple categories tailored to different fitness levels and age groups, including the 3km, 5km, 10km, 21.1km half marathon, and the full 42.2km marathon.

A standout feature in this year’s edition is the introduction of a wheelchair race, underscoring the marathon’s inclusive vision and BTC’s efforts to ensure that people of all abilities are part of the experience.

BTC’s acting Chief Executive Officer, Boitumelo Paya, expressed pride in the marathon’s evolution, highlighting it as a reflection of the company’s journey and values. “The BTC Marathon is more than a sporting event — it is our way of honouring our legacy and giving back to the community that has supported us throughout the years,” she said.

With a festive atmosphere expected and strong support from local institutions and volunteers, the BTC Marathon is poised to deliver both memorable athletic performances and a powerful sense of unity across diverse communities.
