The President, His Excellency Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has encouraged the church to bring joy to other people during the festive season. Addressing the Moshupa United Congregation Church of Southern Africa (UCCSA) this morning, President Masisi said christmas is a time for giving and sharing thus urging the congregants to give to those who are less privileged.
President Masisi said that ‘our neighbours and families go to bed hungry, despite the church being there’. He implored the church to stand and play its role of taking care of the needy. He said like many other countries, Botswana’s economy was negatively impacted by COVID-19, but the country did well in managing COVID -19, although the effects are still felt to this day.
President Masisi further said that the Government will continue to support and mitigate the effects of the COVID-19. He called on the congregation to be cautious at all times as COVID-19 is still around.
President Masisi wished the congregation a merry Christmas and a happy new year. He also donated sweet hampers to the church.
