Botswana Wrestling Federation To Receive Professional Mats

After using Karate mats for training and competitions since the body was established in 2010,  Botswana Wrestling Federation (BWF) will finally receive professional mats.

President of BWF Moagi Sharp has sealed a deal that will see the governing body receive 2 professional wrestling combat mats before the end of the year.

This comes after Sharp took part in the 2017 United World Wrestling Africa Congress in El Jadida, Morocco in April.
The equipment will be donated by the Iran Wrestling Federation (IWF).

Although he could not state the exact date, the BWF president said he expects the mats to arrive in Botswana before December.
Sharp, who is also the 2nd vice president of Pro Wrestling Africa, had stated his intentions to secure the mats before heading to Morocco.

While at the congress he met with United World Wrestling President Mr. Nenad Lalovic to put forward Botswana’s needs in the sport, equipment included.

His quest was successful as president Lalovic offered to facilitate the process that will see the mats delivered to Botswana from Iran.
History will be made when they do arrive as the Federation has never owed UWW approved mats.
