Botswana Slips To Number 2 In Diamonds Below Russia

The De Beers Diamond Insight Report for 2015 has announced that Russia has usurped Botswana as the world’s largest producers of diamonds. The reports show that diamond mines in the Russian federation generated revenue of US $3.73 billion during the 2014 calendar year, this being US 80 million more than Botswana.

Today the two countries account for roughly half the world’s supply, by volume and value.
