Botswana, Saudi Arabia Strength Relations
His Excellency the President, Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi says Botswana and Saudi Arabia continues to enjoy strong bileteral relations.
His Excellency said this yesterday when he recieved the Special Envoy of His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia led by Mr. Ahmed Kattan, the Minister of African Affairs.
Mr. Kattan and his team paid a courtesy call on President Masisi at his office.
The President said he believes the cordial relations the two countries enjoy will continue to grow.
He said Botswana strives to grow her market and is looking towards the Arab nations especially on opportunities for diamonds. He added that it was surprising that the Arab nations were not mostly intrigued by diamonds.
Minister Kattan said while in the country they discussed a number of issues especially ways of enhancing the two country’s relations in all aspects.
He revealed that a Saudi Business Delegation will come to Botswana to explore investment opportunities in the country.
While in Botswana Kattan also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Lemogang Kwape. Working relations between Botswana and Saudi Arabia started in 2007.
