Botswana Ranked Position 91 In The Latest Fifa Rankings
Botswana ranked position 91 in the latest FIFA rankings released today, that is one position up from last Month’s rankings. In Africa the Zebras are in position 23 out of 54 countries. Algeria leads the pack in Africa followed by Ivory Coast and Ghana. Our rivals and main competitor in Southern Africa, South Africa is in the 15th position. The bottom three countries are Djibouti, Eritrea and Somalia.
Of late the Zebras have been doing very well in the recent games they have played. We are currently in position 3 of our group in the AFCON qualifiers and not really doing bad. If we win a few friendlies we might find ourselves in a better position next time. No African team is in the top 30 and that is a course for concern since Africa is blessed with football talent.
Argentina have replaced Belgium as the top-rated side in the world in FIFA’s latest official rankings, while Germany have dropped down to fifth. Soccer heavyweights like Brazil and Spain are not even on the top 5.
