Botswana Media And Allied Workers Union Officially Launched
Finally local journalists have achieved a milestone on a baby that they have been working on. The official Launch of the Botswana Media and Allied Workers Union took place the past Friday at Ave Maria Pastoral Centre.
The guest speaker at the event was Hon. Vice President Mokgweetsi Masisi, and Secretary General of Zimbabwe Union of Journalists, Foster Dongozi who is also a member of the Steering Committee for Federation of African Journalists gave a keynote address.
The Botswana Media Workers Union or BOMAWU in short it’s a workers union that was legally registered in November 2015 by the Registrar of Unions. They have so far managed to register over 250 members and target to double the number of by the end of the year
