Botswana government to formulate legislation that will promote citizen empowerment
Botswana’s President elect, Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi says that his government intends to formulate legislation that will promote citizen empowerment and encourage Batswana to actively participate in doing business.
“This law will unlock, commits or command everybody to respond to it in order to access the resources of procurement particularly from government as well as capacitating small business enterprise” he said yesterday when addressing the media.
Dr Masisi added that in order to yield results in the education and learning sector government intends leasing some public schools to private entities.
“We are going to do a lot of things to energize, refine, refresh, improve our education and training systems and sector. Learning and teaching is a long term process and a teacher is central to it”. he added.
President Masisi said since there was synergy between the timing of elections, the granting of the mandate and the processes of development planning and the budget it will make it easier for the party to implement their manifesto.
