Botswana Fibre Networks (BoFiNet) has successfully completed a major project aimed at providing high bandwidth capacity to customers across the country. The upgrade, which saw an investment of over 100 million Pula, enhances Botswana’s internet gateway, offering improved security, service reliability, and greater data capacity for local internet users.
According to BoFiNet’s Public Relations and Marketing Communications Manager, Keleabetswe Loeto, the equipment upgrade is designed to meet both current and future internet capacity demands. She noted that internet traffic to and from Botswana has grown exponentially over the last decade, making the upgrade essential in ensuring seamless connectivity and enhanced digital services.
“This project is a strategic investment to address the increasing demand for bandwidth while ensuring a more secure and reliable internet experience for both businesses and individuals,” Loeto said.
With the completion of this upgrade, BoFiNet aims to position Botswana as a leader in digital infrastructure within the region. The enhanced internet capacity is expected to benefit businesses, government institutions, and individuals by enabling faster speeds, reduced latency, and improved overall connectivity.
As Botswana continues to embrace digital transformation, this latest investment underscores BoFiNet’s commitment to driving technological advancement and supporting the country’s growing digital economy.
