A BIUST PhD STUDENT, MS BOLO BASUTI DECLARED SPACE FOR WOMEN PROJECT AMBASSADOR TO BOTSWANA AT THE UN SPACE FORUM IN NEW YORK, USA
The Botswana International University of Science & Technology (BIUST), is proud to announce that a BIUST PhD student in Information Systems and Data Management, Ms. Bolo Basuti, was declared space for women project ambassador to Botswana, at a global presentation she did at the recent United Nations Expert Meeting at Space for Women Forum which was held from 4th- 6th October 2017 in New York, USA.
Her abstract presentation titled ‘Earth observation technology: a sustainable tool for women to monitor the environment’ attracted various participants from various countries, including UN delegates. She was interviewed by the UN Department for public information on the 5th October, published on the UN radio, news and media programs.
Ms Basuti also attended a Space for Women High-Level Forum meeting, held at the UN Secretariat building, USA. She was privileged to meet other women Astronauts, Astronaut Scott Kelly and Astronaut
