BDIH Launches IoT-Driven Digital Facilities Management Solution

The Botswana Digital and Innovation Hub (BDIH) Commercialisation Centre has unveiled an innovative digital facilities management solution developed by IoT Communications. Funded through the Botswana Innovation Fund and supported by BDIH, the solution aims to assist organizations in monitoring, controlling, and optimizing various operational aspects within their facilities.

Speaking at the launch in Gaborone, Ministry of Communications and Innovation Deputy Permanent Secretary, Mr. Ambrose Makgonatsotlhe, hailed IoT Communications for its groundbreaking contribution to the country’s digital transformation. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with Botswana’s national development goals and reinforces the government’s commitment to fostering a knowledge-based economy where innovation drives prosperity.

“The success of IoT Communications exemplifies the power of innovation and highlights the importance of creating an environment where technological advancements can thrive,” Makgonatsotlhe stated.

IoT Communications’ Technical Director and Lead Software Developer, Dr. Kabo Pule, expressed gratitude to BDIH and the Botswana Innovation Fund for supporting the realization of their vision. He described the digital facilities management solution as a game-changer that aligns with the country’s digital transformation agenda.

“This solution is designed to streamline, enhance, and optimize facility maintenance, offering a smarter and more efficient approach to managing infrastructure,” Dr. Pule said.

The newly launched technology is expected to revolutionize facilities management by providing real-time insights, automation capabilities, and data-driven decision-making tools.
