Avemaria looking for a housekeeper

Job Brief
We are looking for a Housekeeper/Cleaner in a Hotel to take care of our facility and carry out cleaning and making up of hotel rooms.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine.
• Collects soiled linen for laundering.
• Performing sorting, washing, drying, pressing and folding linen and other textile items in the hotel on a daily basis.
• Carrying out minor sewing duties and removing stains from linen using the appropriate procedures.
• Washes walls and ceiling, moves furniture’s and turn mattress.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes rooms, hallways and restrooms.
• Removes trash collected by room attendants
• Maintains housekeeping carts.
• Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to collect trash, soiled linen and any other object that do not belong on the floor.
• Performing and documenting routine cleaning.
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• A minimum qualification of Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education.
• Certificate/Diploma in hotel management would be an added advantage.
• 2-3 years relevant work experience in a hotel housekeeping department.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.
• Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations.
• Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products.
• Knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards
