Pop star Ariana Grande’s third album, Dangerous Woman (2016), netted her multiple top five charting singles and peaked as the No. 2 album in the country. It appears Grande may be gearing up for another run at the charts in the near future.
Speculation was sparked when a Grande Instagram fan account posted a picture of what seemed to be Grande in the studio with the caption, “Ariana in the studio recently.”
The singer then responded by posting a screen capture of the aforementioned pic on her Instagram Story feed.
“I’m pretty sure dis is very old or fake,” Grande wrote. “If you wanted confirmation that I’ve been workin’ why didn’t you just ask?”
Grande then offered a real Polaroid of herself in front of a studio computer possibly working on her fourth full-length studio album.
In terms of new releases, things have been quiet for Grande. In September, she told Billboard she’d previously started working on an album but held back and emotionally processed the May bombing at her Manchester concert.
“It’s been very challenging for all of us involved,” Grande told Isis Briones of Billboard. “So it would be nice to really hold my loved ones close for a little while, stay home for a little bit. But knowing me, I’m going to be in the studio because I love it, and I want to create. I started an album already a year ago, over a year ago, but I want to keep creating, and it’s not done yet.”
There is no scheduled release date for Grande’s fourth album, she could not be reached at press time for additional information.
