Applications Open For President Holidays’ Temporary Permits
The Department of Road Transport and Safety is now open for applications for temporary permits for the coming President Holidays. Public Transport Operators interested in providing additional service on long routes are welcome to submit their applications at their respective DRTS Offices.
The Department will accept applications for Temporary Permits from 05th July 2016 until 14th July 2016. Their office hours are 0730hrs – 1630hrs. No application for Temporary Permits will be accepted after 14th July 2016. Applications for additional local transportation will be processed by the respective DRTS stations.
Conditions For The Permits:
• Holders of these temporary permits will be allowed to load ONLY when there is demand and substantive permit holders have priority over temporary permit holders.
• Holders of temporary permits are obliged to complete the route
• Everyone issued with a temporary permit shall obtain the price list at their respective DRTS offices before commencement of operation.
• Anyone who fails to comply with these conditions shall render the permit revoked by Transport Inspector or Police officer.
No Temporary Permits will be given at the bus rank.
Note that Temporary permits shall be valid on Friday 15th July 2016 and Tuesday 19th July 2016 ONLY
All Applications Must Include The Following;
• RTS 1 form stating explicitly the route applied for
• Copy of Registration book
• Valid Roadworthiness Certificate
• Certified copy of Omang
• Copy of Certificate of incorporation and share certificate if applying under company
• Copy of current permit used
• Inspection forms if the vehicle does not have a permits
