Announcement Of Africa Climate Mobility Champion Leaders

His Excellency, the President Dr Mokgweetsi MasisI and other Heads of State from Niger, Somalia and Uganda have been invited to become champions of the flagship programme for knowledge and data.

As champion, Botswana will have the opportunity to work with the Africa Climate Mobility Initiative (AMCI), promote and pilot projects in key climate mobility hotspots in the African region.

The President is pleased to champion improved capacities for data, research and forecasting on the continent, as this would enable African institutions and people to anticipate climate risks and plan for climate encounters. As champion Botswana will also get suppourt from the World Bank in carrying out technical projects under the AMCI.
