America’s Black Friday Fever Fast Sweeping Across Africa
Originally started in the United States as a day of promotional sales after Thanksgiving, it also signals the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Most major retailers open for longer hours and offer special discounted prices on all goods.
African retailers have jumped on the bandwagon in recent year, with massive promotions on Friday, 25 November, offering consumers the chance to purchase heavily marked down items both online and in-store.
Here’s a look at some participating retailers in Botswana:
Checkers
One of South Africa’s largest retail stores Checkers will be offering up to 50% on everyday products to celebrate Black Friday on the 25th of November. There will be great discounts on Christmas gifts, and up to 40% off on tech products and gadgets.
