ALIGNMENT OF STRATEGIES NECESSARY FOR DEVELOPMENT
The National Planning Commission (NPC) leadership today held a Press Conference to update the media and Batswana on the newly approved National Transformation Strategy (NTS). The strategy was approved in 2023 and aims to provide a framework towards the achievement of the Vision 2036 aspiration of transforming Botswana to a high-income country.
Speaking at the Press Conference Assistant Commissioner General – National Planning, Ms Koontse Mokgwathi said in the past there has been misalignments of plans at national and district levels. Mokgwathi said the National Transformation Strategy is aimed at addressing issues of alignment.
Assistant Commissioner General responsible for Policy and Strategy, Mr David Sefawe buttressed that this sector based approach seeks to transform Botswana into a high-income economy. Sefawe said this can only be achieved through the consolidation of strategy development processes across all government stakeholders.
