A Goodbye From The Outgoing High Commissioners Of The Republic Of Mozambique To The Republic Of Botswana

The outgoing High Commissioner of the Republic of Mozambique to the Republic of Botswana and also the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps His Excellency Mr Domingos Estevao Fernandes served his term and its time to say GOODBYE to the Honourable Minister Thomas Kagiso Mmusi.

His Excellency Fernandes did appreciate the support and the good relations that has been ongoing and believe they will continue to exist between the two countries.

Reflecting to the relationship between the Ministry and all its departments, being Botswana Defence Force (BDF), Botswana Police Service (BPS), and Botswana Prison Service (BPS); there are clear footprints of the cordial relations between the two countries, particularly in the defence and security sphere.

The Honourable Minister said the deployment of the third contingent of men and women to the Republic of Mozambique was completed last week, since the first contingent deployed in July 2021; the mission is to bring back peace and normalcy to Mozambique.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on Defence Cooperation between the two countries, was signed in August 2019; BDF continues to assist in the training of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM) personnel.
