FUB And Botswana Building Society Help Players Save Money.
It is a given that soccer players are the worst when it comes to managing finances. They get paid large sums of money, but retire to be paupers. Football union Botswana have come to their rescue. Together with their banking partner Botswana Building Society, this organization is helping players save money.
Instead of players binge spending, their money now goes into savings accounts. This was the case last night at the FUB awards, where after giving each of the 11 voted players P2000 it was revealed they will not be getting cash. The money will be put in the players’ savings account with BBS.
This is one of the initiatives of the union and the bank on financial literacy. The two parties recently went around the country holding workshops for the players in the financial aspect. The organization is led by former player Diphetogo Selolwane, as an honorary president, who by experience has an idea what players go through financially. Big up!
