Government Radio Stations And TV To Play 100% Local Content In September
The ever hard working Minister of Youth Sports and Culture Thapelo Olopeng had come up with a good initiative in celebrating our 50th independence. Local musicians should be happy to note that September will be all about their content. Government radio stations and Botswana Television will be only playing local music.
“We have now reached a decision that from the 1st September to the 30th, government radio stations and TV will play 100% local content as part of 50th anniversary celebrations. We are to finalize on royalties,” the minister said on his Facebook page.
Yesterday Olopeng had a meeting with station managers of various private radio stations to discuss the same, and the good news is that they are very much supportive of this. “I was actually humbled by the contributions they made. Together we shall make it. Music Artists, please get ready and prove yourselves,” he concluded.
