Private Tertiary Institutions Association Host An Anti Doping Workshop
Private Tertiary Institutions Association (PTIA), which promotes interest and participation in sport and recreation of all forms amongst students, this morning hosted an Anti Doping Workshop at Limkokwing, where BNOC and RADO Zone VI facilitated the workshop. Workshop was attended by athletes and officials from different clubs representing different sport codes.
The association which also promoted unity among students was committed to sport development in private institutions. PTIA, formerly known as Private Tertiary Institutions Games, was a registered association with the Botswana Registrar of Societies. It was formed in 2008 and its inaugural activity which was ball sport games was in May 2009.
Talent is being wasted because of doping, and some athletes have been victims because of lack of knowledge. Botswana was hit hard when our shining star Amantle Montsho failed a doping test. These kind of workshops and awareness will help save a lot of talent as well as lives.
