La Timmy, DJ Gouveia And DJ Colastraw Against Substance Abuse

3 of the best DJ’s in Botswana, DJ La Timmy, DJ Gouveia and DJ Colastraw have teamed up with the Ministry of Health’s Alcohol Levy funded project to address students on substance abuse in 32 schools across the country. Both Timmy and Colastraw are of sober habits while Gouveia is a recovered addict. This will be a perfect team to impart a positive message to young people since these gentlemen practice what they preach.

The main target are the rural areas because the people who reside there are far from facilities and education and awareness reaches them at a later stage. This will be a form of edutainment, as the youth will be able to get the message through entertainment. This project is also an opportunity for these artists to give back to the community.

The Botswana Government has since through the Ministry of Health embarked on an awareness campaign to promote projects and activities designed to combat alcohol abuse and addiction and minimize its effects.
