The First Lady of Botswana, Kaone Boko, recently visited Kudumatse Village, where she was warmly received by the community. Her visit began with a courtesy call on Bogosi, who welcomed her and shared insights into the village’s development efforts.
One of the highlights of her visit was Dikgatlho Junior Secondary School, where she was deeply inspired by the students’ commitment to education despite the challenges they face. “The students, despite their challenging environment, strive to pass. Their determination to succeed is truly admirable,” she said.
To support their education, the First Lady pledged to renovate the school’s Science Laboratory. In addition, the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) committed to upgrading the ICT Lab to improve digital learning opportunities for the students. BOCRA also donated essential supplies, including sanitary pads, mattresses, and toilet paper, to support the well-being of the learners.
Expressing her appreciation for the warm reception, Kaone Boko acknowledged the efforts of community leaders and educators. “A great thank you to the community leadership and the teachers for their dedication to shaping the future of these young minds,” she stated.
Her visit reaffirmed her commitment to improving education and empowering students across Botswana.
