Prophalt Botswana has stepped forward to address the deteriorating road conditions in Gaborone by pledging more than 100,000 pula towards fixing potholes caused by recent floods. The initiative aims to restore damaged internal roads, ensuring safer and smoother travel for motorists and pedestrians.

The company’s Managing Director, Kagiso Kwelagobe, emphasized that the Gaborone City Council (GCC) would be responsible for identifying the most critical roads requiring immediate repairs. He noted that heavy rains and subsequent flooding had significantly worsened road conditions, creating hazards that pose risks to road users.

“Our priority is to repair potholes on high-traffic routes to facilitate better mobility and ease congestion within the city,” Kwelagobe stated. He highlighted that the company’s commitment aligns with its broader mission to enhance infrastructure and support community development.

The initiative has been widely welcomed, as many residents have expressed frustration over the worsening state of the roads. The collaboration between Prophalt Botswana and GCC is expected to accelerate road maintenance efforts and improve driving conditions across the city.

With road safety and efficiency at the forefront of this initiative, the repairs will provide much-needed relief to Gaborone’s commuters and contribute to overall urban infrastructure development.
