Minister for State President, Mr. Moeti Mohwasa, today visited a grieving family in Magokotswane, Molepolole, after the tragic drowning of a young child in a small dam yesterday. The minister expressed his condolences and offered support to the family during their difficult time.

According to a family member, two children, aged seven and nine, who were in standard two and four respectively, were playing with other children when they accidentally fell into the dam near their homes. Ms. Pauline Motshwarakgole, a relative, stated that the children had initially been playing in the yard, and she only became aware of the incident when calls for help were made to rescue them.

The tragic accident has left the community in shock, raising concerns about the safety of children playing near water bodies. Authorities are urging parents and guardians to be extra vigilant and ensure children avoid unsafe areas.

Minister Mohwasa assured the family that the government would look into ways to enhance safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. The family is now preparing to lay their child to rest as the community mourns the heartbreaking loss.
