Jwaneng Galaxy staged a dramatic comeback yesterday afternoon, salvaging a crucial 1-1 draw against Mochudi Centre Chiefs in the FNB Premiership. A stoppage-time equalizer from Thero Setsile ensured the defending champions maintained their impressive 19-game unbeaten run.

Despite dominating the first half, Galaxy found themselves trailing in the 83rd minute when Chiefs substitute Razeen Bennett capitalized on a well-worked move to put his side ahead. However, Magosi’s defensive lapse after taking the lead allowed Galaxy a lifeline, with Setsile striking from inside the penalty area in the dying moments to rescue a point for his team.

The match at Dinaledi Football Academy Stadium was a highly technical battle, with Galaxy controlling the midfield through experienced players Gilbert Baruti and Gift Moyo, who outmaneuvered Chiefs’ Thabo Wetshoemang and Keitumetse ‘Black Ball’ Samunzala.

Chiefs, still unbeaten in four matches under their new head coach and club legend Pontsho Moloi, faced a setback when first-choice goalkeeper Tumisang Selolwane suffered an injury in the 69th minute. He was replaced by Moraka Tauyatswala, a change that may have affected the team’s defensive stability. Prior to this match, Chiefs’ defense, led by Thami Zulu and Kennedy Amutenya, had kept six consecutive clean sheets.

While Galaxy remain the only unbeaten side in the league, they sit third on the log, with their progress hindered by a high number of draws.
