The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for State President, Ms. Goitsemang Morekisi, has called on District Commissioners to align themselves with the vision and priorities of the new government. Speaking at a meet-and-greet engagement with the Minister for State President, Mr. Moeti Mohwasa, in Palapye yesterday, Ms. Morekisi emphasized the importance of collaboration and adaptation during the transition period.
Acknowledging the challenges that come with such changes, Ms. Morekisi stated that transitions require mutual learning. “The public service must learn to effectively support and serve the new leadership, while the new leadership must, in turn, familiarize itself with the workings of the public service,” she noted.
She urged District Commissioners to take proactive steps to familiarize themselves with the government’s set priorities and align with the new vision to ensure effective service delivery. Ms. Morekisi also highlighted that the National Development Plan 12 (NDP 12) has been deferred to July to allow for thorough consultations. In the meantime, the Transitional National Development Plan will guide the government’s activities and policies.
Ms. Morekisi described the meeting as part of a broader series of engagements led by Minister Mohwasa to strengthen communication and collaboration within the Ministry.
The Permanent Secretary’s message underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and effective governance during this critical period.
