The Minister for State President, Honourable Moeti Mohwasa, has expressed his gratitude to the members of the disciplined forces for their unwavering commitment to maintaining safety and security during the festive season. The Minister made his remarks while addressing Botswana Police Service and Botswana Defence Force operatives at the Ngwasha Veterinary Gate, situated between Nata village and Ramokgebana Border, on 23 December 2024.
In his address, Mr. Mohwasa acknowledged the sacrifices made by members of the police and military, who often miss out on the holiday celebrations due to the demands of their work. He expressed his appreciation for their dedication, emphasizing that their efforts do not go unnoticed. “While you are keeping the nation safe, it is important for you to know that the country recognizes and values your hard work and sacrifice during this season,” he stated.
The Minister further urged the personnel to remain committed to upholding human rights while carrying out their duties. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that those who violate the rights of others are held accountable, reinforcing the government’s dedication to justice and the rule of law.
Accompanying the Minister during his visit were the Commander of the Botswana Defence Force, Lieutenant General Placid Segokgo, and Commissioner of Police, Ms. Dinah Marathe. Together, they acknowledged the vital role played by the disciplined forces in ensuring that the country remains safe and secure throughout the festive period.
