In the cross jurisdiction legislations session Mr Oliver Maponga, Economic Affairs Officer from Economic Commission of Africa, Zambia discussed some of the challenges faced by Governments such as lack of capacity by Government in addressing certain issues to address the existing gaps such as displacement and Human rights abuse as seen in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
Implementation, Consultations and policy review issues are some of the problems faced by Governments across different jurisdictions.
Speaking at the high level dialogue on comparative experiences in Mineral Resource Governance and Africa Mr Maponga said the adoption and Domestication of regional frameworks should involve using the best practice networks needed to ensure internalization so as to take a deeper look at the problems.
Legislation, Domestication of the tools and Coalition were some of the discussed strategies to combat the challenges as shared by Ms. Rachel Mundilo, Programme Manager, SADC PF.
