The Minister of Minerals and Energy Honourable Lefoko Moagi today launched a P10 million Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project offered by Jindal Africa Mmamabula Energy in the Mahalapye District.
In his remarks the Minister applauded Jindal Africa saying their efforts are in line with economic empowerment and are inline with vision 2026 of building a knowledge based economy.
Speaking at the event Jindal country Director Mr Neeraj Saxxena said this is first step of corporate social responsibility of the company after embarking on a need based approach to improve health and education of the residents.
Donations made included school textbooks and medical equipment and capacitation of women to set up protective clothing manufacturing businesses. The project beneficiaries were primary schools, health facilities and women economic empowerment groups in each of the four villages being Palla Road, Dovedale, Mmaphashalala and Mookane in the Mahalapye District.
