CHEMA CHEMA FUND LAUNCHED
His Honour the Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane when launching Chema Chema Fund this morning said the Government of Botswana made a deliberate decision to establish Chema Chema Fund in support of the informal sector.
His Honour said statistics show that the informal sector contributes about 3.2 % to the GDP and it employs about 200 000 people, of which 70% is women. He said the statistics are a clear demonstration of the significance of the informal sector in this country’s economy and therefore scout favourable interventions and support.
The Chief Executive Officer of Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency(CEDA) Mr Thabo Thamane cited that Chema Chema Fund application can be done physically at CEDA offices or online by dialing *133#. He said the forms are short and simple to enable those who wish to apply to do so with ease.
