SERETSE KHAMA MARATHON LAUNCHED
The Minister for State President, Honourable Kabo Neale Sechele Morwaeng today officially launched Sir Seretse Khama commemoration marathon in Serowe.
When giving remarks during the launch, Minister Morwaeng said the marathon is intended to remember, honour and celebrate the legacy of the founding President of Botswana Sir Seretse Khama, adding that he played a major role in transforming Botswana’s economy. Minister Morwaeng urged the public and organisations to take part in the marathon since a lot can be achieved through collective stakeholder inclusion.
He further stated that the marathon will contribute positively in promoting health and wellness in Botswana. Minister Morwaeng also unveiled the marathon logo.
The marathon will be held on the 29-30 June in Serowe and activations will be held across the country in Gaborone, Orapa/Letlhakane, Maun, Francistown, Mahalapye, Jwaneng, Palapye, Selibe-Phikwe and Serowe.
The marathon will include multiple races being a 5km, 10km and 21 km thus offering opportunities for everyone to participate. Registration for the marathon is ongoing.
