VICE PRESIDENT URGES BUSINESSES TO GIVE BACK TO COMMUNITIES

His Honour The Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane has urged businesses to give back to the communities they are operating in. Speaking today during the Choppies Big Birth Day Bonanza handing over ceremony, Vice President Tsogwane applauded Choppies for giving back to their customers, adding that other businesses should do likewise.

Vice President Tsogwane thanked Choppies for its generosity and good gesture. He said the initiative which is aimed at recognizing and appreciating loyal customers will lead to the achievement of Vision 2036 pillar of ‘Prosperity for all’ as the competition has changed lives of some of the ordinary Batswana. He said some beneficiaries have used their winnings to advance their already existing small businesses.

The Vice President Tsogwane said that Choppies is a shining example of social responsibility in the era where Environment, Social and Governances (ESG) issues are taking fore through its social programmes. He cited that during festive holidays they donated food hampers to Botswana Defence Force (BDF) and Botswana Police Services (BPS).

For his part, the Board Chairman of Choppies Enterprises Ltd, Mr Uttum Corea thanked their suppliers and sponsors for their role. He said the Big Birthday Bonanza initiative is a way of appreciating their valuable customers who supported them during the year.
Five customers; Alfred Sedupenyane, Keikagile Maswikila, Boy Molefane, Yvonne Clopas and Makawe Kgosidiile won a Nissan Navara each while 93 customers won P15 000.00 each in cash prizes.

The Choppies Big Birth Day Bonanza has been conducted annually since 2003 and has over the years given away 220 cars.
