Botswana has become the newest shareholder of the Africa50 organisation after signing the Subscription Agreement with the Pan-African Infrastructure Investment Platform. This was revealed by the Chief Executive Officer of Africa50 Mr Alain Ebobisse during a courtesy visit to the President of the Republic of Botswana, His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi this afternoon at the Office of the President.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, Botswana took a decision to invest in the Africa50 Project Development Fund by buying shares from the Development Fund and Project Fund. Africa50 was established by African governments and the African Development Bank to help bridge Africa’s infrastructure funding gap by facilitating project development, mobilising public and private sector finance, as well as investing in infrastructure on the continent.
